A little about StoryBook Photography...

   

Storybook Photography is based out of Madison, MS. 

Photography began as a hobby for me when I was a child. I had several 35mm cameras growing up and I enjoyed learning to process and develop my own film in my photography classes in high school. I continued shooting on film for many years. Things have really changed sinced then. I made the switch to digital a couple of years ago when Santa Claus finally gave in to that camera that I kept putting on my list.  
I had only been shooting my children as well as close friends and family. I was working full time as a Registered Nurse, so I did not have the time to offer my services to others.  
All of that changed in November 2006 when I was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer. I had an immediate hysterectomy and was very fortunate that the cancer had not metastized to any other parts of my body. I did have some complications and my leg was partially paralyzed when I came out of surgery. Since that time, I have had great improvements. I went from a wheel chair, to a walker, and then to a cane. We are very thankful that I did regain most of the use of my leg, however I was unable to return to my job as a Registered Nurse.

I have been a Stay at Home Mom since my surgery. It was quite an adjustment for me, but I have really enjoyed the time with my children. After many requests from friends and family, and no longer having the "I don't have time excuse", I decided to offer my photography services to the public. I have been very busy with photo shoots, and it has been a great joy to help others capture their precious memories.

I am married and we have 3 children ages 10, 7, and 5. My youngest started Kindergarten this year, so this has opened up
more free time for me. This allows me the opportunity to offer my photography services during the week in addition to weekends.

My goal when creating a portrait is to capture a day in the life of your child. These are memories that will last a lifetime. I want my sessions to be fun and enjoyable. My pictures will not always be the perfectly posed frozen smile type pictures. I would rather capture a child's candid spontaneous moment rather than a posed sitting. I like to capture that laugh, those dimples, a smirk, and sometimes just a natural solemn look.  It is amazing how such a special or spontaneous moment can be captured and frozen in time, for you to look back on for years to come.  I have found that some of the very best photos are not posed.  Everyone wants beautiful pictures of their children, but unfortunately that process is not always easy. This is why I allow my clients to just be themselves and have fun while I follow them around and capture those moments. 

Whether you are wanting family photos, candid fun shots, photogenics for pageants, or portfolio shots for modeling, we can provide you with what you need!!

I shoot on location and will come to you. We can meet at a location of your choice or your home.  I also have several favorite places that I like to shoot and they provide a great atmosphere for a successful photo shoot.
